About Me

Since I was 7 years old and my father gave me my first knife, I’ve always loved  knives.  As I grew older, I became interested in learning how to put the best edges on a variety of knives from hunting and EDC, to kitchen cutlery.  Because knives are a part of everyday life, from opening boxes  to kitchen prep and various hobbies and crafts, having an expertly sharpened knife makes all these things safer and more streamlined.

A lot of people don’t have the  equipment,  know-how, or time to sharpen their own knives,   which is why I started this knife-sharpening service.

My Equipment:

I use a Swiss-made Tormek T8 water-cooled sharpener as my main sharpener for kitchen knives as well as high-end EDCs.  It is the highest quality machine for sharpening professionals and fully adjustable, so I can set the perfect angle for each of your specific knives.

Depending on the knife and the task at hand, I will also use a variety of belt sanders with only top-quality belts and custom-designed angle guides to ensure that any knife I’m working on is being set at the correct/perfect angle for that knife. Be assured that the very best equipment is being used to get your knives back to razor-sharp.

My Process:

Most knife edges don’t fail because of poor steel—they fail due to improper technique during sharpening. Too often, people move through grits too quickly, don’t fully refine the scratch pattern, or advance before the edge is properly apexed. Just as critical, the burr is frequently left behind.

If the burr isn’t completely eliminated, the edge isn’t truly solid. Instead, it’s made up of fatigued metal barely holding together. It might seem sharp at first, but that sharpness fades quickly.

A quality edge isn’t defined only by how polished it looks at the end.
It comes from building it correctly from the start and finishing it properly.

That’s why I emphasize a complete, step-by-step approach rather than focusing on any single product.
When each phase—apexing, refinement, and burr removal—is done with purpose, the result is an edge that cuts more effectively and maintains its performance longer.
